Although it is true that hazing is a terrible experience, it is the choice of the person being hazed to do so, because they want to be accepted in the fraternity. Nobody forces them to drink dangerous amounts, and one should expect some sort of ritual if they seek to join a fraternity. Furthermore, frats are a completely unnecessary part of the college world, and are only a way to buy yourself friends. If someone is desperate enough to be accepted, it is their choice to put themselves through whatever hazing ritual is involved.
